چکیده
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) can be used as a coreactant to generate reductive-oxidation ECL of Tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium(II), Ru(bpy)3 (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), in pH 7.5 phosphate buffer solution (PBS). Although Ru(bpy)3 is adsorbed and precipitated on the electrode upon reduction of Ru(bpy)3 in aqueous solutions, ECL can still be generated and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) e r o q ©

Considering the chemical energy requirements of the tri-n-propylamine co-reactant pathways for the judicious design of new electrogenerated chemiluminescence detection systems.
The introduction of a 'co-reactant' was a critical step in the evolution of electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) from a laboratory curiosity to a widely utilised detection system. In conjunction with a suitable electrochemiluminophore, the co-reactant enables generation of both the oxidised and reduced precursors to the emitting species at a single electrode potential, under the aqueous con...

The electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) of Ru(dp-bpy):+ (dp-bpy = 4,4’-diphenyl-2,2’bipyridine) and Ru(dp-phen):+ (dp-phen = 4,7-diphenyl-l,lO-phenanthroline) in acetonitrile and aqueous solutions was studied. The diphenyl-substituted compounds produced a more intense emission than the nonsubstituted Ru(bpy):+ Ru(dp-phen):+ m acetonitrile. The ECL efficiencies, dECL, of Ru(dp-bpy):+ and we...
متن کاملSynthesis, electrochemistry, and electrogenerated chemiluminescence of two BODIPY-appended bipyridine homologues.
Two new 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) derivatives containing ancillary BODIPY chromophores attached at the 5- and 5'-positions (BB3) or 6- and 6'-positions (BB4) were prepared and characterized. In this work, the basic photophysics, electrochemistry, and electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) of BB3 and BB4 are compared with those previously reported for a related bpy-BODIPY derivative (BB2) (J. Phys...
متن کاملElectrochemical studies of the interaction of metal chelates with DNA. 4. Voltammetric and electrogenerated chemiluminescent studies of the interaction of tris(2,2'-bipyridine)osmium(II) with DNA.
Cyclic voltammetric and electrogenerated chemiluminescent data were used to study the binding of tris(2,2'-bipyridine)-osmium(II), Os(bpy)3(2+), an electrostatic binder, to calf thymus DNA. The oxidized form of the osmium complex, Os(bpy)3(3+), has a stronger association to DNA than the reduced form, Os(bpy)3(2+), as indicated by the negative shift of E0' of the CV waves (K3+/K2+ = 3.35). The c...
متن کاملElectrochemical investigations of the interaction of metal chelates with DNA. 3. Electrogenerated chemiluminescent investigation of the interaction of tris(1,10-phenanthroline)ruthenium(II) with DNA.
The electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) that results from the oxidation of tris(1,10-phenanthroline)ruthenium(II), at a gold electrode in the presence of oxalate, was used to investigate the interaction of the Ru(II) chelate with calf thymus DNA. The decrease in ECL emission from the excited state, Ru(phen)3(2+*), in the presence of DNA, is ascribed to binding to binding of the chelate to ...
